Perhaps the most fundamental difference between art and design that we can all agree on is their purposes.
Art
Art connects with people in different ways,
because it’s interpreted differently.
An artist, in creating a new unique work because
his emotions and soul is dictating the movement of his hands and the impulses for the usage of the medium.
A work of art stems from a feeling that the artist holds
within him or herself.
The artist create the art to share that feeling with others, to allow the viewers to relate to it, learn from it or be inspired by it.
Art tends the recipient to stimulate thinking..
It is purely emocional by the artist.
Design
Good Design Sends the Same Message to Everyone.
Function and design are experienced daily.
Design or decoration is received as esthetically
matters, sand and transmit this messages.
There are rules that design must take into account:
Rest or vitality, harmony or playfulness, some of
features which can be reflected in a space.
The boundaries between the two often overlap and are not fixed and depend on interpretation.
